BROCKHILL COURT BLAZE

Last updated: Friday, 1st April 2016, 10:23

Brockhill Court in Shelsley Beauchamp, home of Sir Anthony and Lady Winnington, was the scene of a major fire on Wednesday March 30th.  The blaze destroyed an adjoining bungalow that housed tenants Des and Beryl Robson who were away at the time. Whilst the incident was significant, the efforts of the Fire Service prevented the fire from spreading to the main part of the Court.

The fire occurred on the last day of Sir Anthony’s tenure as High Sheriff of the County. At Shire Hall in Worcester the following day, as he handed over to the next Sheriff, Sir Anthony said "We are very grateful for the rapid response of the Fire Service who ensured that the fire was contained."
