NEW HIGH SHERIFF FROM THE SHELSLEYS

Shelsleys’ Parish Council Chairman Cassian Roberts has been appointed High Sheriff of Worcestershire for 2018/19. The announcement by the Privy Council last month means that Cassian is the second High Sheriff from the Shelsleys since Sir Anthony Winnington’s appointment three years ago.


Cassian Blaise Luke Lechmere Roberts and his wife Jane (neé Ward) live in Shelsley Beauchamp. They have four teenage children and established JC Tours Ltd, a travel company that has been taking and sending people on holidays and tours throughout the world for the past 17 years. The couple have lived in Worcestershire since being married in 2000. Both are actively involved in local and Worcestershire life. Cassian is a member of several Worcestershire clubs and societies and can be found most Saturdays rowing on the Severn with the Worcester Rowing Club. Cassian was born in 1962, the sixth of ten children. Educated at Ampleforth College and Henley Business Management College (Graduating with an MBA 2002), he was commissioned into the Irish Guards in 1982, serving in West Germany BAOR, Northern Ireland, London, Afghanistan with HALO trust in 1989, Berlin 1990, Oman, Egypt, Kosovo and Sierra Leone. He was promoted Lieutenant Colonel on the Counter Terrorism Training Team in 1996 (Egypt) before retiring in 2000.
