The new management team taking over at the Lion Inn, Clifton, on Friday, 30th November, is chef John Brandon and his wife Jean.
John worked in a variety of notable hotels and restaurants. He first worked in Geneva at the Nogay Hilton before moving on to Genotier in Annecy, France and Sienna in Tuscany. Back in the UK again, he was soon drawn to the very best in London, joining L’Orangere in St James Street. The Conran group soon followed, including Bibendium and Quaglino’s before becoming Head Chef at the Waterloo Place Hotel in Edinburgh. More recently, John has been Head Chef at The Elms Hotel at Abberley where he won a coveted AA Two Rosette Award for its food.
John Fletcher, owner of the Lion, said: “I am delighted that John and Jean will bwe taking over as the new management team at the Lion. They have even agreed to open for dining on Christmas Day.”
